What's a Kettlebell?
A kettlebell is a cast iron ball with a handle on it. They have been used in Russia for centuries by their Olympic athletes and Military. Today Kettlebell's are used by a variety of people with different goals. For example, athletes, power lifters, martial artists, law enforcement, golfers, military, hollywood actors and actress use this to get into the best shape of their lives.
What makes Kettlebell Training different from other types of weight training?
The design makes the kettlebell different. When you hold a kettlebell, the weight is distributed unevenly. While dumbbells distributes the weight evenly over your hand. As with most conventional exercises there is more emphasis on the concentric phase (shortening) of the muscle. With Kettlebell training there is more emphasis on the eccentric phase (lengthening) of the muscle. Eccentric training has shown to cause an increase of strength and higher demand on caloric burn, which is a result of rapid weight loss and increase of strength.
